Prince of Persia: Epilogue Xbox 360 Review

Posted by Don On June - 4 - 2009

By definition, an epilogue is in response to a story complete in itself and is therefore not an integral part. He tells briefly what happened after the events narrated above. It is therefore not a conclusion or an ending, but rather an extension offered to the reader (and therefore the player) to enable it to know, in part, the becoming of the protagonists. It presents subsequent facts to the action, intended to complete the meaning. The last hour of the Prince of Persia story ends in a way, certainly unexpected, but it is nonetheless an end in itself. The epilogue engaged just after, and therefore considers that the player knows what happened, hence the total lack of explanation on the situation of the two main characters and the current state of the kingdom plagued by corruption more than ever. This means that if you have not completed the game, you cannot understand the point of this epilogue, which is aimed solely at those who have completed and enjoyed the main adventure of Prince of Persia.

Available as a download for $ 9.99, this epilogue updates the basic game to add an adventure for approximately three hours. To play, you do not need to have kept your backups, but you will need to hand your copy of Prince of Persia. More difficult than the original adventure, but also more intense because it proposes an action that takes place without time-outs (no collection of spheres of light), the epilogue provides an opportunity for players to return a second time in the Prince of Persia universe until the true result. If the price of this extension is a bit high, we do advise to those who appreciated the original game in its entirety and ask for! If you are forced to play or you do not go to the end, this epilogue is clearly not for you. It is important to note that as Prince of Persia is a controversy that has divided the party players, some will find it fascinating and enchanting from the start to the finish while others will regret the former direction of the series.

The underground palace is a sinister and oppressive place where there was little opportunity to see the light of day. For this reason, the environments have less impact than the landscapes of the basic game, but they succeed better to suggest a sense of danger and oppression. The gameplay benefits only two additions: the lightning shock, to rush to the opponent to challenge, and the purple slabs that recreate a part of a scene for us to transcend some passages. There are therefore essentially the same advantages and the same defects as in the main adventure. The environment sounds admirably continue the action and contribute largely to the efficiency of the atmosphere of the game

The goal of this extension does not bring new revelations but prepare the ground for the rest of the trilogy. Nothing is explained at the beginning of this epilogue because it assumes that you already know what happened at the end of Prince of Persia. First extension of Prince of Persia, this epilogue gives us the opportunity to extend the gaming experience by a few hours to discover what happens to the prince and Elik after the game final. Despite its price (9.99 $), this supplement is required for anyone who asks and who will see in this unexpected epilogue an invitation to go on an adventure. But if you are of those who had dropped Prince of Persia before the end, don’t buy it.
